Phloridzin

• It is well known to prevent the breakdown of sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol from food to reduce the absorption into the body system.

Ø  Phloridzin prevents uptake of glucose from the intestinal tract by inhibiting specific glucose molecules from being transported in the intestinal lining.

Ø  Studies show that phloridzin slows triglyceride absorption from the intestine by blocking pancreatic lipase, causes some triglycerides to pass out of the body in the faeces.
